Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. The couple made the move to Oxfordshire at the age of five when she enrolled in at the Dragon School. Emma aged six when she decided she wanted to become an actress. She studied for a number of years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part time theatre school in Oxford in which she learned acting and singing. It was already her turn to perform in several Stagecoach performances as well as in school events by the time she turned ten. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the 2001 film adaption to J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was found by agents via their Oxford teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint of their auditions after eight. They were chosen to play three leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. The movie's release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's first cinematic screen appearance. The film set records for opening-day sales and opening-weekend takings and also was the highest-grossing production in the year 2001. Film critics praised the film as well as its performances by the three leading young actors. The popular British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her acting performance as admirable. Emma was awarded the Young Artist Award as the most outstanding young actor in a Feature Film. Later, she was recognized five times in recognition of her work in the film.
